Meet the Founder: Scott Serafinowicz's Story
Hello, my name is Scott Serafinowicz, a Cree entrepreneur from the Cree Nation of Chisasibi, located on the eastern coast of James Bay in Northern Quebec.
Growing up, I developed a passion for sports, especially hockey. Sports taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and community. While I am not always able to participate as much as I would like today, those experiences continue to shape the way I approach challenges and opportunities in both my professional and entrepreneurial journey.
Alongside running my business, I work at ADAAWE, an Indigenous business hub located in Canada's National Capital Region. Through my work, I have the opportunity to support Indigenous entrepreneurs, connect with innovative business owners, and contribute to a growing ecosystem of Indigenous economic development.
One of the greatest advantages of working at ADAAWE is being surrounded by a strong and supportive community. I am fortunate to have access to mentors, entrepreneurs, and colleagues who are always willing to share ideas, provide honest feedback, and encourage growth. These relationships have helped shape my perspective as both a business professional and an entrepreneur.
My entrepreneurial journey is rooted in a desire to celebrate Indigenous culture, support Indigenous innovation, and create products that tell meaningful stories. Every step of the journey is inspired by my community, my experiences, and the belief that Indigenous businesses can create lasting impact for future generations.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and the story behind the brand. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
